Freestanding, "S" shaped, elliptical, and wall-supported are just some of the design options you'll have when you begin working with us to have customized curved stairs installed in your home. Whichever form you choose, many other elements will modify the final piece so that our premier stair builders will leave you with a one-of-a-kind stairway, perfectly suited to you, your home, and your lifestyle. These elemental forms include:
Spindle (baluster): the turned or carved vertical pieces that fit between the custom handrail and the tread or stringer
Newel post: these are either rectangular, square, or circular posts placed centrally and at junctions in a stairwell. The bottom stairs accommodate a landing newel, while at the top is the starting newel
Tread: the horizontal platform used for ascending the stairs
Riser: the counterpart of the tread and rests perpendicular to its horizontal plane
Finial: decoratively carved or shaped top on a newel post
We deliver and install custom craftsmanship in New York State and neighboring states; however, we are also happy to customize straight or curved stairs in other areas of the United States if arrangements allow. In addition, our premier stair builders will consult with you long-distance, a technique made possible by sophisticated software and other technology, and bring your unique needs and creative ideas to fruition. Then, we'll happily send components to you, no matter where you live nationwide, and you can take it from there with a locally trusted and reliable stair craftsman. So, if you like the beautiful hardwood stairways and cabinetry you see here, and if you think this is just what you've been looking for, please don't hesitate to contact us. We can probably work something out so that you can enjoy hardwood, custom-designed creations for your home and family.
